Many of you will be well aware that Avengers: Infinity War is the biggest movie on the planet right now.
In an interview with the Huffington Post, Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo confirmed the status of a host of offscreen Marvel characters, although did say some were "too spoilery" to reveal.
Infinity War had another record-breaking weekend at the box office, highlighted by a $200 million opening debut in China and passing the $1 billion mark for foreign receipts. The franchise's first installment racked in more than $132 million during its 2016 opening weekend; Deadpool went on to earn $783 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing R-rated movie in history. It's now the fifth highest-grossing movie of all time, but that won't last.
$200 million opening weekend haul in China powers Avengers: Infinity War's worldwide total to $1.05 billion.
As the name would suggest, the Fortnite x Avengers LTM was a mashup between the Battle Royale game and the recently released Avengers: Infinity War film.More news: Populist parties win tacit Berlusconi OK to form govt
Now, AIW is the fifth highest-grossing film of all-time in global markets, only behind Avatar ($2.02 billion), Titanic ($1.52 billion), Furious 7 ($1.16 billion), and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($1.13 billion). Subsequent reports said that Infinity War outpaced Avengers: Age of Ultron's pre-release sales by 1000%.
The film has also become the fastest film to cross US$1 billion (S$1.34 billion) globally, with the possibility that it could hit US$2 billion by the end of its theatrical run, according to Forbes.
It's next hurdle is Star Wars: The Force Awakens at $2.06 billion.
As for cracking the top two, I don't envision Infinity War pulling it off. Or maybe even Avengers 4?
Don't expect anything just yet though - Ms Marvel will probably appear on screen after the release of Captain Marvel because her character is inspired by the hero who will soon be played by Brie Larson in the upcoming Captain Marvel-centric film.
