Johnny Manziel Admitted To Texas Hospital After Reacting To Prescription Medication

The post is briefly visible on Manziel's Instagram account, but is not sharable.

The medication he takes for his bipolar disorder could have been what caused this situation. "It was a scary moment and I'm especially grateful for the staff at the hospital and all that they've done in the last 24 hours", he wrote.

Former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel was reportedly hospitalized Monday evening in Texas following a concert after having a negative reaction to a prescription medication. He was first there to play in a golf tournament which was hosted by his former college teammate and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans.

According to Manziel, he takes lithium to deal with his bipolar disorder.

The former Heisman Trophy victor and current pro football free agent is in the midst of an attempted career comeback and image rehabilitation.

It remains to be seen, however, if any NFL team will sign "Johnny Football".

In February of this year, Manziel said he's taking his comeback seriously while admitting to "self-medicating with alcohol" in the past.

But just last week, TMZ published a police report from Manziel's ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley in which she alleged "she felt like she was going to die" during a 2016 domestic dispute.
