Team Nigeria parade in opening ceremony of 2018 Commonwealth Games

She has twice claimed silver medals at the Commonwealth Games in the hurdles.
Basketball stars Nick Collins from Renfrew, Callan Low from Kilmacolm, Chris Cleary from Houston and Glasgow Rocks player and current Great Britain captain Kieron Achara who lives in Paisley are all part of the Team Scotland in Australia.
250 athletes competing in 18 events - came close to the end of the parade, with para-swimmer Sophie Pascoe leading the team around the stadium. Henderson has also had high praise of Team Attaché Daphne Pirie who is assisting with the coordination of team arrangements and networking. Athletes from 71 nations and territories are taking part.
Prince of Wales, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Australian prime minister Malcolm Turnbull, Commonwealth Games Federation president Louise Martin and Commonwealth Games Australia president Sam Coffa were the dignitaries in Gold Coast.

It is the fifth time Australia is hosting the quadrennial Games (Sydney 1938; Perth 1962; Brisbane 1982; Melbourne 2006) and the hosts will be seeking to reclaim their top dog status. "I'd still like to think of myself as one of the young ones", she said. "Play your game, be your dominant self and everything will go well".
The Indian men's and women's hockey team will also look to put up a good show at the Games.

The Ceremony told a universal story - with staging inspired by the landscape, elements and iconography of the region - and opened with Isabella Graham, 11, from Minjerribah on North Stradbroke Island, beginning the countdown.
The first events take place on Thursday with the Games scheduled to finish on April 15. The individual men's and women's races and a mixed team event on Saturday will be over the sprint distance - a swim leg of 750 metres, a 20-kilometre cycle and a 5-kilometre run, half of the Olympic version.
