The Overwatch team has announced that the popular Uprising event will return in 2018 on April 10th.
While Overwatch has repeated events before (such as Halloween Terror, Winter Wonderland, and the Lunar New Year) they've always added new things that changed how the event was played out the year before.
The first season of the Overwatch Open Division saw thousands of teams around the world take part, and numerous current crop of Contenders teams in various regions did in fact begin their journey here.
However, the teaser has a secret hinting that this year's Uprising event won't just be a retread of last year's. All players who complete the regular season will receive $10 of Blizzard Balance, regardless of placement.More news: Iraq vows to secure Sinjar boarder region, after Turkish warning
Blizzard is preparing for its next big in-game event for the competitive online multiplayer shooter Overwatch. The event also offered several legendary skins and other event-exclusive cosmetic items. You may also remember that Moira's origin video showed her in a Blackwatch uniform too so perhaps she'll be receiving a new skin. However, it appears that Blizzard has something extra in store. You can see a brief teaser video in the tweet below.
The event will run from April 10 through 30, and pit you and three friends up against omnics running rampant through London. A small glitch in the trailer changed the date to seven years ago, as the file number changed and Blackwatch was suddenly visible in the title.
What do all these clues mean?
Overwatch is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. That sounds like a better name for an annual event that is focused on Overwatch lore, and eliminates confusion with the Overwatch League team of the same name from Boston.
