Forget blue arrows, Google Maps lets you navigate as Mario

Because Google Maps will be transforming into a real-life (though much safer) version of Mario Kart, because they're going to let Super Mario guide us on our way. However for fans of Nintendo's Mario franchise, you might know that tomorrow is also known as Mario Day, or rather because the 10th of March can also be written as MAR10 (Mario).

Google announced that the latest update in the Google Maps app on both iOS and Android.

Mario is hitting the road without a care (or blue shell) in sight as he directs you to your destination. And there are spin-offs such as Mario Kart, a racing game featuring Mario and Luigi.

Google has in the past did similar fun-filled things Google Maps making it interactive for users. "Then tap on the yellow "?" icon on the bottom right and select "Let's-a go!" when prompted. To celebrate this special day, from March 10th to March 25th, you can purchase Super Mario Run for a special price of up to 50%* off! While that sounds like a unsafe combo, Google is simply changing the driver's icon in Google Maps to a digital Mario motoring along in his staple red kart. The mustachioed plumber will also help you various deals and sales on Nintendo games.

Tapping the question mark will launch the Mario Time screen and allow you to move forward with navigation.

Although the day of celebration is tomorrow, Google has rolled out the update a day early. He'll be a constant companion wherever you're driving this week.
