Fifteen-day-long festivities of Chinese New Year begin

More than 1.4 billion Chinese people will be celebrating the arrival of their New Year according to the traditional lunar calendar.
Chinese New Year has painted Sydney red, as the city welcomes the year of the dog with fireworks, lanterns and a glowing red opera house and harbour bridge.
