Four security personnel martyred in Quetta shooting

The Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were targeted when they were on a routine patrol on Sariab road in Quetta.

The Taliban militants on Wednesday killed four paramilitary soldiers in an ambush in Pakistan's restive southwestern Balochistan province, police said.

The attackers opened fire on the vehicle and fled the scene, leaving four personnel dead. Police reached the crime site and started investigations.

In another such incident, at least five security personnel were martyred and six others were injured near Kech district of Balochistan.

Security has been tightened in the area to capture the assailants, while the bodies have been shifted to Quetta Civil Hospital.

Security forces took the entire area in their cordon and kick-started search operation for the attackers. Last month, at least seven persons were killed on Zarghoon Road in Quetta when a suicide bomber rammed his motorbike into a police truck.

On January 28, a policeman was killed in Quetta's Hazarganji area in a targetted attack while on January 18, two Balochistan Constabulary officials were killed in Quetta.
