We can recognize some symptoms of the mentioned problem if we observe that the the female spends too much time in the nest without getting any results, if the cloaca is rubbed against the floor repeatedly, she is too restless, she shows up, feathers bristling, or even feels on the floor as if she has trouble standing up. We have 3 types of possible accidents : On the left, radiographs of a hen with a broken egg and stuck ... to the right after the operation, the chicken released from his problem that almost killed him. 1. Retention of the first, second or both eggs (ovoestasis)
It can be due to fatigue due to the previous putting, lack of vitality in the wall of the oviduct or irrational or insufficient feeding.
- Cold can be another factor as it can cause cramps or spasms in the oviduct.
- It can occur in the back and may not produce apparent problems especially if it is the second egg.
Actions: Do not intervene except by inserting a drop of olive oil into an ovoid syringe.
When you are in the cloaca and if you leave with a special instrument suitable you can remove it and as surely you do not have to go to the veterinarian to remove it properly. Come on, in case you do not get it GO TO THE VETERINARY.
In the photo you can see two broken eggs and subsequent retention.
as we see in this photo, Pocha who had two broken eggs inside and retained, did not have good face. Bristled feather
After the eggs are broken or blocked, they begin to block the crop. This is logical and the pigeon will vomit and begin the problems of fermentation in the crop.
They can become so uncomfortable that they fall to the ground

You can see that the anus is not as usual, there are problems!
Applying this method, this goldfinch managed to expel these two eggs. In the video you can see that he was not feeling well.
2. Abdominal position
Normally erratic and sterile egg. It curves in the nest and has the previous problems.
Symptoms : bending and bristling feathers.
EYE: do not over-guard your females or this may occur.
3. Prolapse of the oviduct / cloaca or both
Very rare. It can be by females overweight or fat.
Symptoms: red-bluish appendix at cloacal level.
Solution: Put mucus in place, with anesthetic ointment and disinfectant (a little)
, wounded mucosa ... IMMEDIATELY GO TO THE VETERINARY.
Adding sugar will help repair the prolapse. Photo: www.clinicaveterinariaexotics.com
There are usually no fertility problems in pigeons. Until 5 months more or less neither male nor female will be fertile, their first eggs being unfertilized.
So, if you are an adult and even with those eggs do not end up being born, we should ask ourselves what is wrong.
May be food , inadequate. Lack of vitamins, minerals and fatty acids needed for the good reproductive condition of our pigeons.
Let them be cage and sad (you know we have the banned cages) and do not show interest in eggs because of the life they lead ... do not hatch them and go.
sufferers and this will affect your reproductive system.
- Let's remember that if the shell is translucent it means that our female pigeon lacks calcium . p>
