Free Xbox Faves Include 'Shadow Warrior' and 'Split/Second'

As an added bonus, the Xbox 360 games will be playable on the Xbox One through Backward Compatibility. They can then download Crazy Taxi, a $9.99 title, for free the very next day through February 28th.

The lineup for February 2018 is led by Shadow Warrior, Flying Wild Hog's 2013 reboot of the late-'90s first-person shooter. It received mixed to average reviews with the general consensus being that the game is fun, but has some setbacks. Joining Shadow Warrior is Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India normally priced at $9.99, which will be available from February 16th to March 15th for Xbox gamers. February 2018's Games With Gold promotion features a couple of swashbuckling titles and a couple where you will put the pedal to the metal.

In addition to Assassin's Creed: Origins, the Xbox One X is also capable of playing games such as Forza Motorsport 7, Super Lucky's Tale, Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves and Cuphead. As long as you're a subscriber, you'll still have access.

It's a shame that Split/Second and Bizarre Creations' Blur cannibalized each other, leading to neither game carving out a significant portion of the racing market.

The second Xbox One title is Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India.

Xbox players can begin downloading "Shadow Warrior" for free from february 1 to february 28. The arcade driving simulation game offers a twist as players assume a taxi driver who has to complete his routes to earn money and improve his ride or skill. Split/Second is also available soon as one of February's Games with Gold.

Games for Gold freebies are only available for subscribers.
