Angry protesters greet Rahul Gandhi in Rae Bareli, Amethi

Meanwhile, BJP spokesman Manish Shukla questioned as to why Rahul Gandhi did not meet party workers of his constituency which created a stampede like situation.

Amethi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday conducted a "Janata Darbar" at the Munshiganj guest house to hear the people's grievances in his parliamentary constituency Amethi.

The poster is said to be displayed by a local named Abhay Shukla, who claims to have no connection with the Congress party.

The irate protesters led by BJP leader and local trader Rajesh "Masala" "welcomed" Rahul Gandhi as their "missing MP" and accused him of "grabbing farmers' land for own trust", "ignoring the development of Amethi" and "not utilising the MPLAD funds".

Police used mild force to separate the clashing groups. "Police is investigating the case and action will be taken against the guilty", he said.

In the poster Rahul was seen carrying a bow and an arrow, pointing towards Prime Minister Modi.

Taking a dig at the Congress chief, Sharma said that Rahul Gandhi was suffering from attention seeking disorder, and was disappointed by the continuous shrinking mandate and electoral defeats.

He will reach Salon via Rae Bareli at around 12.30 pm on Monday and address the public at Salon Nagar Panchayat. "One case was registered on the complaint filed by a citizen, while the other was lodged by the police", Additional SP Rae Bareli Shashi Shekhar Singh said today. Reports say, Rahul is trying his best to revive the Congress' prospect in UP and thus his visit to Amethi holds great meaning.

The travel route of the cavalcade of the Congress President was also changed at the last minute and Gandhi undertook a march on foot till the Gauriganj square. This is Rahul's first visit to his constituency after being elevated as the president.
