Camila Cabello Calls Fifth Harmony's 2017 MTV VMAs Diss "Petty"

In late a year ago, Camila Cabello unveiled the music video for "Never Be the Same", the third single off her debut solo album "Camila".

The Havana singer admitted she failed to see the amusing side at last year's MTV VMAs when her ex-bandmates blew a colleague - thought to represent her - off stage.

"It definitely hurt my feelings", said the Cuban-born Miami resident, who told the Times the stunt made her cry. From opening up for Bruno Mars during his 24K Magic World Tour in June 2017 to finally releasing her solo album, the 20-year-old is declaring her independence. "I don't like holding onto the past, especially when it's stuff that, in my opinion, is just petty".

Revealed this week, Billboard reports that the song is having the longest run on the Pop Songs chart since Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble" in 2013.

"I just love that attitude, there's a vibrance here that makes me feel good". She said she wanted to contribute lyrics to group songs, but was rebuffed.

Cabello's 2015 collaboration with Shawn Mendes - the first time any member of Fifth Harmony released solo material - created tension.

She continued, "It became clear that it was not possible to do solo stuff and be in the group at the same time".

The four remaining women of 5H kicked off their VMA performance appearing in silhouette with one extra member, before one of them was pulled off the stage, hinting at a not-so-civil exit from Cabello after the jumped ship and left the group.

"I'd just say congratulations", the British rock icon shared of what he would say to Camila if they ever met. Looking at her from that point of view, the middle-aged biography to come nearly writes itself: "Call Her Miss Cabello".

Album standout Into It is a delectable slice of Carly Rae Jepsen Lite, as Cabello playfully coos over punchy synths and hi-hats, beckoning, "I see a king-size bed in the corner, we should get into it".

There is still some bad blood among the ladies, who she said gave her the ultimatum that led to her departure, announced in December 2016.
