Red Dead Redemption 2's release date potentially leaked by Danish retailer

Coolshop is notable as being the retailer who correctly leaked Grand Theft Auto V's release date ahead of schedule.

Rockstar has not yet confirmed the release date officially.

The retailer initially listed Red Dead Redemption 2 for a June 8, 2018 release, which is slightly beyond what most people think of when hearing spring.

There are two possibilities: Either the retailer didn't learn their lesson last time and have made the same mistake, or they wanted to get a few clicks in by putting a date on a wanted game.

I don't know about you, but I have been waiting ages for Red Dead Redemption 2 to arrive.

On the positive side, there are several factors that suggest the release date could be real.

We're sure Rockstar's PR team has a plan but, if June 8 is indeed the new launch date, you would think The Game Awards earlier this month would have been the flawless time to make the final reveal. For the game to actually be released then, we should be seeing more of a media presence for the game, with tangible marketing materials rolling out in the coming months. Rockstar thus far has been tight-lipped regarding details of the game including the timing of its launch, only slipping us tidbits and trailers here and there.

It should also be noted, June 12 is the first day of E3 2018, the popular LA video game convention, and it would make sense for Rockstar to attempt to capitalize on the hype. As always, we should take this with a grain of salt but given the fact that this website accurately posted a release date for another Rockstar game months in advance, it may be something that has some truth to it. However, an online retailer in Denmark may have just spilled the beans.
