Mariah won't be missing sound check at NYE rehearsal this year

A few days ago we posted that Mariah Carey will be performing at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve party in Times Square to ring in 2018.

Dick Clark Productions, which produces the show, countered that the monitor was fine and that Carey skipped rehearsals - something TMZ reports will not happen this year.

As the final preps are made in New York City's Times Square for the annual New Year's Eve ball drop, ABC is gearing up for an annual tradition.

She added: "So I'm honored that she said yes, and I'm honored to be a part of a show that is doing something so nice".

During her performance a year ago, Carey was visibly upset and at times stopped singing, despite a pre-recorded track playing in the background.

As for how this performance got booked, our sources say both sides wanted it. Mariah is determined to show the world she's up to the task, and the folks at DCP know ratings will spike because no one is discounting the possibility of another train wreck.

"It's not my idea but it's a good idea", Seacrest said. "I know I need about 40 of them".

Ciara will host a star-studded show from Los Angeles for the Pacific Time Zone's strike of midnight, with performances from Shawn Mendes, Kelly Clarkson, Kane Brown, Charlie Puth, Khalid, BTS, Alessia Cara, Florida Georgia Line, Halsey, Portugal.

She half-heartedly mimed her way through her hit 'Emotions', in what was meant to be the entertainment climax for the throngs waiting hours in the cold in Times Square. Ryan is the host of television's largest live broadcast New Year's celebration. Carey is returning to "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest" after last year's debacle. "It's like, how many times would we love a second chance in life?"

"That show is so special to me", Seacrest said.

If there is one event that people from America look forward to every New Year, it's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve".
