McGregor Could Return in Summer

UFC President Dana White told Undisputed that he has a meeting with Floyd Mayweather's people on Thursday and added that "anything is possible" when discussing the rumors of Mayweather potentially fighting in the UFC in the future.

"Let's get through the holidays and hopefully he starts to get the itch to come back and hopefully we can get him back this summer", White told ESPN. "I knew what he was doing".

So GSP and his camp have transitioned to campaigning for the biggest fight possible - Conor McGregor.

"I have a meeting with [Floyd's team] today".

White also stated, in an interview on Undisputed, that the victor of the UFC 219 fight between Edson Barboza and Khabib Nurmagomedov could determine the next fight for Ferguson while he is awaiting the return of McGregor.

A timeframe for McGregor's return to the UFC is now unknown, and White has acknowledged on several occasions that the lightweight division needs to move forward.

It was also brought up in the aforementioned interview, that White plans to begin promoting boxing bouts under the UFC banner in 2018.

We asked White if he's the guy who can get an Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder fight done - he didn't say no.

But, UFC President Dana White is finally shedding some more light on the situation. We don't know if that's ever going to happen, though. "It would probably be the biggest fight in UFC history and MMA history and that record wouldn't be broken for ten years".

White was wearing Zuffa Boxing shirts on the press tour for the boxing super fight between McGregor and Mayweather and has been a boxing fan for decades.

He wants to work with other promoters on the venture, and one of them is Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe.
