Another beautiful coastal town is Hilton Head Island, popular for its boating, tennis, fishing, polo and golf. Hilton Head Island is known for its world class golf at Harbor Town Golf Links, which hosts the PGA Tour of South Carolina, RBC Heritage.
Hilton Head also owns 160 miles of cycling trails, so start pedaling and exploring. If you want a bit more adventure, try the Hilton Head zip line at the Broad Creek Marina.
To relax, just take a day on the beach. Go jogging or horseback riding or biking on the white sand beaches and watch the dolphins play in the ocean. Enjoy a nature walk in Sea Pines Forest Preserve, a nature preserve that features boardwalks among the wild marshes. Wildlife is plentiful in Hilton Head; from birds to dolphins.
The island has a cultural richness influenced by the Gullah Geechee people, descended from the slaves who worked on the old plantations. Today, you can experience this fascinating story at the Gullah Little House Museum or the Mitchelville Freedom Park in the northern part of the island.
In Harbor Town, you can buy, eat, entertain and perform many activities. Enjoy a fabulous sunset from the top of Harbor Town lighthouse.
