Uttarakhand quake measuring 5.5 Richter Scale hits Rudraprayag; tremors in north India

Strong tremors were felt in Delhi and the National Capital Region this evening for a few seconds after a 5.5 magnitude quake struck Uttarakhand. Even on Tuesday, there was a 3.3-magnitude natural disaster. According to the Centre for Seismology natural disaster was of magnitude 5.5 and was reported in Rudraprayag city of Uttarakhand and there were tremors in different parts of the country. As per the reports, the strong tremors have also felt in Punjab and Haryana.

Residents in Delhi and Noida said that they had felt strong tremors but there are no reports of damage yet. It falls in the Himalayan region. In Dehradun, many people stepped out of their buildings after the tremors, reported news agency ANI. In the last 24 hours this is the second quake in Uttarakhand. Many people took to Twitter just after they felt the quake.
