Asus NovaGo, world's first gigabit LTE laptop launched, price starts at $599

Microsoft's Terry Myerson joined Asus, HP and Qualcomm executives on stage at the Qualcomm Technology Summit to unveil the first Always on PCs - Windows 10 laptops based on the Qualcomm 835 chipset, with a promised week of battery life.

Thanks to the Snapdragon 835's X16 LTE modem, the Envy x2 will keep you connected wherever you go just like your phone.

Rumored for next generation flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S9 and LG G7, Qualcomm today officially announced the Snapdragon 845 processor. HP is promising to eke more than 20 hours out of the chip without a charge, and what's more, the Envy x2 and other Snapdragon-powered machines are created to deliver that kind of battery life even though they're always on and come with LTE built in.

Asus NovaGo is the world's first Gigabit LTE laptop with superfast download speeds which will allow users to download anything within seconds. As we've come to expect, it will bring improvements in power, efficiency, and niche areas like image processing to next year's best smartphones. Just that the NovaGo is running a mobile processor does not put the device into isolation.

Next, it was the turn of HP's Kevin Frost, who also unveiled a Snapdragon 835-powered Windows 10 laptop at the event: the HP Envy x2.

The big unknowns at this point, other than whether or not HP's battery life claims hold up to our own lab tests, is how the Snapdragon chip will stack up performance- and price-wise compared with competing Intel-powered PCs. ENVY x2 is incredibly thin, light, durable and of course always connected, the HP ENVY x2 offers lightning-fast 4G LTE2 and Wi-Fi. Both models will launch with Windows 10 S, but can be upgraded to the full Windows 10 experience. That translates to battery life up to 20 hours and up to 700 hours (over 29 days) in standby.

Asus tells us that it will also offer a 128GB of storage option, and there may be a 6GB of RAM configuration available too, but it will vary depending on regions and what retailers want in terms of spec.

All the promises that are made by the two tech giants are an indication of great future for innovation in the tech industry. PC market is not falling it is just the beginning of an ERA.
