Margot Robbie Reveals Why She Likes Playing Harley Quinn

I kept saying when we were shooting Suicide Squad, 'She needs her girlfriends, ' she needs other girls around her because she loves that.

We all were impressed by Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn in the film Suicide Squad, and have been awaiting her return as the complex character.

In an interview with MTV, Margot let slip that work on the (as yet untitled) film has been under way for about two years. The character has gained some serious traction in recent years, thanks to her solo comic series in the New 52 and Robbie's performance during Suicide Squad. I mean, it's hard to kind of talk about it, because all the stuff is kind of under lock and key.

In an interview with MTV to promote her new film I, Tonya, Robbie, who played Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad a year ago, talked about her own vision for the future of the character, including a solo film completely unrelated to any of her other films.

Well, it might be that the solo Harley Quinn movie (which probably isn't a solo movie, and will probably still feature other notable DC characters) which had Christina Hodson attached as writer isn't dead after all.

In September, Warner Bros. finally tapped Gavin O'Connor (The Accountant) to helm Suicide Squad 2.

It's not known which of the Harley Quinn movies will hit the big screen first as Margot Robbie offers: "I, honestly, don't think anyone knows what's going to be the next thing to happen, but I think everyone's keen to get Harley back on screen". No one actually cares about Harley Quinn or wants to see Warner Bros. ruin more iconic comic book characters. It's a totally separate one. There's a lot going on right now. "She loves meeting people, any people, but she needs her girl gang".

Ultimately, what will be the test of a Harley Quinn spin-off - or any Warner Bros. Which project are you the most excited about?
