This year's Big Birdfeeder Competition will run from January 14 through February 14 - one month to watch your feeder and make a list of all the species you see landing or foraging underneath.
" Bird feeder "is defined by fruit (or other appropriate bird food) placed in the same spot for the duration of the contest. The odd hummingbird (or other non-feeding species) that lands on the feeder can be counted as any bird that actually feeds on dropped scraps underneath but you may NOT count the bird randomly hopping under the feeder with no active feeding behavior. p>

Please submit your list by February 19 to firstname.lastname@example.org - the winner will be announced (and prizes handed out) at the 2015 Annual Meeting on February 21.
This year the Great Contest of Bird Feeder will be from January 14 to February 14 - a month to observe its feeder and make a list of all species that sees posing or looking for food in it.
A "Bird Feeder" includes fruit (or other bird food) placed in the same place throughout the contest. The strange hummingbird that is posed in the trough (or other only visiting species) can be counted like any other bird that actively feeds on the fallen waste of the trough but can not count a bird that jumps spontaneously under the feeder without showing behavior some of them actively feeding.
