Basebrawl: Suspensions likely after mass Detroit Tigers-New York Yankees punch-up

Afterward, the Yankees were still a little perplexed by Cabrera's reaction.

"If we have to follow one person, we'll do it".

The first came when Sanchez (No. 24 in the video below) sucker punched Miguel Cabrera while he was in no position to defend himself.

Batters don't like it when pitchers throw at them.

Well Aroldis Chapman comes in the game and it looks like everything is fine.

"He's been phenomenal", Frazier said of Sanchez.

Over on the Tigers' side, they're coming off a set against the Dodgers.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi appeared to be angry about Kahnle being tossed without a warning and argued the ejection before he was also ejected.

Both Romine and Cabrera were ejected from the game, but there promises to be multiple suspensions stemming from the brawl. Cabrera gave him a two-handed push to the chest.

More news: Commelinaceae family's Jason Beck lays out what happened between Cabrera and Austin Romine, brother of Tigers utilityman Andrew Romine. "I felt like he wanted a confrontation, and I tried to defend myself the best I could".

Cabrera and Romine were both ejected for their scuffle. Sanchez was eventually pulled out of the pile by Clint Frazier. Romine pulled his mask off and he and Cabrera began to yell at each other before Cabrera pushed him and threw a punch. James McCann was hit in the head by a fastball from Dellin Betances, who, along with Yankees bench coach Rob Thompson, ended up being ejected.

McCann, too, said he couldn't comment on what transpired. Things escalated and Miggy started throwing punches. "I don't think that he was trying to hit me on goal".

Tigers manager Brad Ausmus was also suspended one game. That brought both benches out again.

In the eighth, the Tigers' Wilson hit?

Betances' replacement, David Robertson, then hit Detroit catcher John Hicks with a pitch, loading the bases. Iglesias had three hits for the Tigers, and Brett Gardner had four for the Yankees.

Shane Greene got five outs for his fourth save.

Richt said on Tuesday, when he announced redshirt junior Malik Rosier as the starting quarterback, that the backups handled the competition beautifully and he'd be "shocked" if anyone transferred.
