Four new characters announced for Dragon Ball FighterZ

Dragon Ball FighterZ was one of my favourite games at E3, mostly due to just how faithfully Arc System Works are sticking to the source material and recreating some of the most iconic Dragon ball Z imagery in a fast paced, frantic fighter.

According to the "V-Jump" magazine scans shared by Gematsu, Super Saiyan Blue Goku will have "10x God Kamehameha" as part of his arsenal, while Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta can punish enemies with his "Final Flash Attack". Additionally, Android 16 and Android 18 make a playable appearance in the latest issue, too.

Earlier this week, some new Dragon Ball FighterZ gameplay footage emerged online, showcasing some impressive combos performed by a variety of characters. Weirdly enough, there's no Android 17 to go along with the trio from the show, but hey - it's the Androids, and we're not here to complain so much. Android 18 can use an ability called Accel Dance to summon Android 17 for a combination attack, but at the time, it's unclear whether Android 17 will be included in the game as a playable character or not. It will apparently feature a revived Android 16, where "super warriors fall one by one". The new story will bring unexpected events for "Goku and friends" depicted in "high-end animation". In addition to the four new roster members, other characters who will be featured in the fighting game are the aforementioned Goku and Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks, Piccolo, Krillin, Frieza, Cell and Majin Buu. A closed beta will run from September 16 to 18.

Dragon Ball Fighter Z launches on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next year.
