Get Ready to Raid Mewtew Soon

Niantic has announced that we can expect to see Mewtwo at exclusive raid battles in Pokémon Go. It is still unclear as to when we will see Mewtwo popping into raids in the United States, but keep an eye out for your own special invitation!

Read the full notice on the Pokemon Go site. As always, players will have to defeat them to capture the Legendary Pokemon. To do so, players will need to have defeated a Raid Boss at the gym where the event will take place. Unfortunately, you only get one free Raid Battle a day, as they use a consumable item called a Raid Pass. The other thing that's risen sharply in the last 24 hours is Mewtwo-related complaints from Pokemon GO users that do not live in Japan - where this Pokemon is (thus far) exclusive. If you play your cards right, soon you could find yourself in possession of five different Legendary Pokemon, including Mewtwo.

Mewtwo will be available to capture thanks to the new Exclusive Raid Battles feature.

Mewtwo has already shown up at the Pokemon GO Stadium event in Yokohama, Japan earlier today.

Pokemon GO is available now for the iOS and Android devices. For now, players can get their hands on Mewtwo through such events. All eligible participants will receive a warning, and will have ample time to coordinate a strategy.

The "trick" behind the OK Button Exploit is that if a player doesn't hit OK after catching a Raid Boss, that player's app won't confirm that they caught the Pokemon, thus increasing (or at least not decreasing) the likelihood that other players in a Raid Group catches the Pokemon. Nonetheless, Niantic has extended the appearance of four Legendaries in the hopes of encouraging more players to set out and capture them.
