This will be the first time Wisconsin has had Notre Dame on the schedule since the 1960s.
Lambeau Field is named after Curly Lambeau, who graduated from Notre Dame in 1917 and played for Knute Rockne.
Lambeau Field will host in 2020 and Soldier Field will get 2021.
The news conference will be at 11:30 a.m.at the Under Armor Brand House at 600 N. Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago.More news: Israel plans to shut down local Al-Jazeera offices
UW and Notre Dame haven't met on the football field since 1964, when the Fighting Irish won 31-7 in Madison. Both schools were reportedly in talks for a series in 2009 that targeted the 2012 to 2015 timeframe but no game was ever scheduled. The contests will be the first meetings between the teams since a three-game series from 1962 to '64. "Two storied college football programs, playing in the two oldest stadiums, historic, iconic stadiums in the NFL". The 2021 game at Soldier Field will be a "road" game technically for the Irish.
"We at Wisconsin are honored to have the privilege to play a program with the rich tradition of Notre Dame". The 1904 and 1905 games were played in Milwaukee, while legendary Irish head coach Knute Rockne led Notre Dame to a 19-0 victory over the Badgers on October 19, 1929, at Soldier Field.
The first major college football game took place at Lambeau just previous year. The Irish hold an 8-6-2 edge in the all-time series.
