3 gang suspects shot dead trying to flee Moscow court

Three defendants have been killed in a court in the Russian capital, Moscow, after they tried to take the arms from security officers, officials say.

Three law enforcement officials were wounded, said Petrova and Yevgeny Kubyshkin, a spokesman for the Russian national guard, which had an officer in the court.

The suspects are thought to be part of the GTA gang, suspected of killing several motorists in the area.

According to preliminary information, two guards were accompanying five handcuffed defendants in an elevator inside the court building. The body said one of the defendants tried to strangle one of the guards, and the defendants managed to escape and seized the guards' weapons.

The incident is not thought to be terrorist related and the court has resumed its hearings, TASS reported. "Then we heard shots - approximately 25 shots were fired".

Prosecutors said gang members were placing spikes on roads, forcing motorists out of their vehicles and shooting them dead.

Four alleged members of a so-called "Grand Theft Auto gang" standing trial in Moscow have been killed after a gunfight broke out in the court building. "Later somebody said that an armed guard had been injured".

They had also attempted to take hostages.

The gathering of Central Asian nationals was associated with murdering 17 drivers in the Moscow range in the vicinity of 2012 and 2014. I saw a wounded woman bailiff, her face (covered) in blood.
