"This is particularly important through our largest hub and our home in Denver". Frontier, along with the Florida-based Spirit, has spearheaded the growth of the ULCC in the United States - prompting major legacy carriers to adapt with new products such as basic economy fares.
The change elevates the number of cities Frontier flies to 82 and adds 85 new routes for the airline. New destinations include Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Fort Myers, Miami, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Tampa and West Palm Beach, which will take until Spring 2018 to fully institute at the Town of Islip's airport. "We look forward to the new partnership with Frontier", said Monica Lombraña, A.A.E., Director of Aviation.
The new flights will give the airline the ability to serve more of the USA and make flying a truly affordable option, Barry Biffle the CEO said on Tuesday.
But the size of the latest expansion announcement is unprecedented. Fares - which averaged $184 one way during the fourth quarter of 2016, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation - are likely to decrease once the Frontier service starts. "Three new direct flights is huge for our airport, and these are major destinations".
Frontier Airlines is adding nonstop service between Milwaukee and Miami and Tampa. "The cumulative effect of these increasing costs is that connecting traffic is no longer profitable for our airline". With the addition of San Antonio service, SJC airlines operate to 42 nonstop destinations.
Members of Discount Den, Frontier's loyalty program, can score these flights for an even more attractive price: Flights between Albuquerque and Denver, for example, are available for only $24.More news: Aladdin Has Found Its Aladdin, So Please Stop Contacting Me
