Breaking the internet this Sunday, fresh from the D23 Expo in the United States, Disney has finally revealed more details about its live-action rendition of the 90s" classic "Aladdin' and announced who'll be playing the three main characters: Aladdin, Jasmine and the Genie.

Guy Ritchie has been lined up to direct the film.

Earlier this week, the studio had shared that they were facing trouble finalising the lead pair for the film.

The Egyptian-Canadian relative newcomer will be topping the bill as the titular lamp-rubbing hero, alongside Will Smith as the Genie and Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine.

Written by Oscar-winner Jennifer Lee, who wrote and co-directed Frozen, and directed by Guy Ritchie, the new Aladdin is a remake of Disney's 1992 animated film Aladdin. He has also starred in the teen drama "Open Heart" and appeared in the movie, 'Strange but True'. Throughout the cycle, she proved she could effortlessly move between ultra-feminine and slightly androgynous looks, mastering both lacy dresses and oversized pantsuits in equal measure.

The film was likely inspired by the record-breaking success of the live action Beauty and the Beast remake, which raked in $170 million in its opening weekend. Rumor has it that they are looking at very famous names for it. Scott, who will portray Princess Jasmine, is born to a British actor and an Indian mother.

Disney has come under fierce criticism for choosing not to cast a non-Arab actor in the new Aladdin film. In the role of Aladdin, we will find Mena Massoud, which we have already seen in some TV series. But Scott sings, she acts, and she's definitely got the style.
