Bigg Boss: Ex- contestant Mandana Karimi files domestic case against husband

Mandana, who has become a household name after appearing in the ninth season of the controversial reality show Bigg Boss, married Gaurav Gupta, a Mumbai-based businessman, in January this year. She also claimed that Gaurav and his family forced her to change her religion.

The model-turned-actress has, according to the report, asked for maintenance to the extent of ₹10 lakh per month for her basic needs, along with a compensation of ₹2 crore for the trauma and agony caused, and loss of career and business. Barely six months have passed, and she has now filed a domestic violence case against her husband, and sought divorce. Also, said that Gaurav Gupta and his family members asked her to quit her acting career as the profile does not suit for their family status. The actress has also filed a complaint against her mother-in-law for harassment. Her petition even mentions how, ahead of their marriage, Gupta insisted on her conversion to Hinduism. Reportedly, Mandana had been evicted from her matrimonial house a few weeks ago and despite making desperate attempts to reconcile with them, they barred her from entering the house. Mandana added, "Gaurav has cut me off". She has further said that she was eventually made to move out of the matrimonial home and that she is now staying in a service apartment in Mumbai.

Mandana married Mumbai-based businessman Gaurav Gupta on January 26 after dating for nearly two years.

Karimi's lawyer Madhukar Dalvi said that the matter is now in court and that they would contest it as per law.
