Accusing AAP of having closed its doors to "big leaders' who could have done well for the party, Waraich said that he tried to bring good leaders into the fold but his attempts were met with resistance".
"I did not expect him to raise question about the selection process when the party has given him so much", Mann said.
"Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi is a friend who has been betrayed by AAP.We will welcome any leader who is deserving".
Mann was appointed as the chief of AAP's Punjab unit on May 8 at a meeting of the AAP Political Affairs Committee (PAC) in New Delhi. "It has become hard for me to continue with this party".More news: President of Niger reschedules visit to Buhari

Mr Ghuggi, the former convener of the AAP's Punjab unit, resigned saying it was "difficult for him to continue" in AAP.
Asked whether Mr Ghuggi's exit would be a loss to AAP, Mr Mann replied, "Parties are above individuals". Prominent Congress leader and MLA from Amritsar (West) Dr Rajkumar Verka whom former AAP Punjab convenor Gurpreet Singh Ghutti met before resigning told India Today that Congress party will welcome any leader who supports its policies.
"They chose to pick and choose amongst the 20 party MLAs and other members and said they had taken a decision to appoint a new convener". He said the AAP leadership in Delhi should give a free hand to whoever was made the convenor. "But they closed doors for all good people", he said.
The right process would have been to call 117 candidates who contested the recently held state assembly polls, he said adding that heads of some wings of the party were called, yet many were ignored in this pick-and-choose process. "His resignation is a direct result of the moral degradation of the AAP", SAD secretary general Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa said.
