Absolver Release Date Announced as August 29th

After you create your character from the three starting classes, you wander out into the world and battle NPCs and other players, sometimes learning new techniques as you fight.

Absolver puts players behind the mask of a Prospect, who has taken a sacred vow and chosen to join the Absolvers, an elite corps of combatants fighting to maintain stability in the world.

Pierre Tarno recently posted up a blog over on the PlayStation Blog talking about his upcoming game Absolver.

Absolver, an online action game, is releasing digitally on August 29 for PlayStation 4 and PC, Devolver Digital and developer Sloclap announced today.

Kahlt Method - Absorb hits without being stunned or pushed back, and regain lost health with every successful counter attack. The game is quite similar to For Honor, but the game mechanics make it very unique, as this gameplay trailer explains. New players, called Prospects, can become mentors to other players that they meet.

"Forsaken" provides a more power-led, balanced style, while "Windfall" will favour those who want to focus on greater dexterity and evasion in combat.

The trailer really gets interesting when we see how there are different combat stances for the attacks. These moves are split into four sections or stances, which correspond to your orientation in relation to your opponent. Within each stance are a series of combinations that you can chain together. Along the way, new loot will drop and abilities will be learned to improve your style.

Players can choose attacks and stances to create a fighting style and its fully customizable, allowing players to change fighting stances on the fly.
