Arsene Wenger only concentrating on Arsenal after breaking Jose Mourinho duck

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that midfielder Granit Xhaka suffered an ankle injury during the Gunners' 2-0 victory over Man United at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

They are five points ahead of fifth-placed United and seven clear of Arsenal, who have two matches in hand.

Everything else was familiar with United under orders to produce the sort of bodies behind the ball performance that makes them so hard to beat.

Their fans were yet to get over the celebration of a likely win over a hard opponent when Danny Welbeck doubled their lead three minutes later.

While United and Arsenal fans enjoyed one of the Premier League's most intense rivalries after years of fighting for silverware, the conflict has cooled of late with neither serious contenders for the title since United lifted it last in 2013.

"I left Highbury, they were crying, I left Emirates, they were crying".

"They had luck with that first goal".

"Today (Sunday) they leave waving their scarves".

"We still have a mathematical chance [of making the top four]", Wenger said in his post-match press conference. Do not think that I am happy that they are not winning trophies.

"Apart from that, I can not ask more from players who do not play one minute of football in the past seven weeks like Smalling and Mata".

In short, none of the four sides pushing for the top four behind Chelsea and Tottenham have been convincing. "We will try to win our remaining games and maybe we (will finish) in the top four".

Mourinho made eight changes to his starting team from the 1-0 win over Celta Vigo in the first leg of the Europa League semifinals on Thursday.

"It can help all the young players coming through the system to believe they can do it. Marcus [Rashford] was an example and now I'm an example, Tim [Fosu-Mensah] and Scott are examples. We need everybody. We have such a small squad in this moment and these guys have a fantastic answer", he added. "It was a very nice decision". We couldn't afford to lose today.

"We'll see. I don't know [whether he will feature on Wednesday]". "Arsenal scored and afterwards they brought the block low and defended well and coped with our attacking football".
