Albany Gander Mountain going out of business

During Camping World's earnings conference call on Thursday, Lemonis said they will be operating Camping World, Gander Mountain and Overton's as separate entities.

Camping World is run by Marcus Lemonis of CNBC TV's realty show The Profit.

Camping World, a company that sells recreational vehicle products, is taking over Gander Mountain and its boating business, but is only obligated to operate a minimum of 17 of the existing 160 Gander Mountain stores.

A store closing banner went up on the Coldwater location earlier this week, and signs in the window advertise 30% off storewide in the liquidation sale.

That company's CEO has made it clear that a "Going out of business" sign does not necessarily mean an individual store will be closing.

Brent Moody, Camping World's chief operating officer, said the company will focus on corporate overhead and expenses as it "right sizes" Gander Mountain's inventory.

St Paul, Minnesota based Camping World, Inc and a group of liquidation specialists this week bought Gander Mountain out of bankruptcy for about $390 million.

"Camping World's plan is to ... operate only in retail locations with occupancy costs that we believe support profitable operations ... consistent with our other operating segments", he said.
