Rain, thunderstorms in forecast as the weekend approaches

Wednesday will be sunny with a high temperature near 80 degrees in Oklahoma City, the National Weather Service reports.

The good news? They'll be patches of sunshine here and there.

Partly cloudy skies are predicted for Friday night, with a low around 45.

Friday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Thursday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Southwest wind around 6 miles per hour. Low around 46. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Shower and thunderstorm activity is possible through Friday morning, the weather service notes, though daytime highs are expected to be in the upper 70s. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. Southeast wind around 5 miles per hour.

Wednesday: Rain likely, mainly after 11 a.m. Cloudy with a high near 72. Light southwest wind becoming west 9 to 14 miles per hour in the morning.

Thursday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 11pm.

The storms are expected to develop across Iowa late Wednesday afternoon and evening, then track northeast into Wisconsin during the evening and overnight, with the greatest threat from 10 p.m. through 4 a.m. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Today looks to be pleasant, with sunny skies and a high in the upper 60s. Partly sunny, with a high near 82.
