Uttar Pradeshs' cops have found an eight year old girl who can neither speak or behave like normal human beings.
Sub-inspector Suresh Yadav was on a routine patrol near the Uttar Pradesh reserve when he spotted the youngster in the remote rainforest area famous for its unsafe snakes and predators. When she was being rescued, the monkeys along with the girl screeched at him. "As we tried to go near the girl, the monkeys surrounded her and some of them pounced on us", says sub-inspector Yadav.
She was moved to a hospital in the city of Bahraich, close to...
Police are reviewing reports of missing children to try to identify the girl.
According to the police, the girl can not speak or understand any language and gets scared when approached by humans.More news: Subject to recall because of possible defective part
"From her behaviour, it appears that she had been with the monkeys since birth". According to Chief Medical Officer DK Singh the girl has lived with animals for some times and after months of guidance now she is showing signs of improvement. While she can walk on two legs, she spends much of her time on all fours instead, like a monkey.
The girl was first spotted two months ago by some villagers who had gone to collect firewood in the forest. Despite improving slowly, Singh is confident that she will recover soon.
The officer said: "When rescued she had unkempt nails and hair and there were wounds all over her body". We gave her some food to eat.
Doctors told the Times she is often violent and is scared by the presence of other humans.
Her story has similarities with Rudyard Kipling's tale about a boy called Mowgli who was brought up by wolves.
