LaVar Ball says Lonzo Ball wins more than 6 National Basketball Association titles

One of his biggest competitors for that honor is UCLA guard Lonzo Ball, whom many expect to be the second pick at this point.
The Kotite-led Jets were willing to take chances on unheralded players - ever hear of Wayne Chrebet? - but apparently didn't see the same potential in Ball, who was released.
Lonzo Ball is projected to be a top-three pick in what is expected to be a deep 2017 NBA Draft. "Again, they're swinging the bats, not me".

LaMelo tweeted, "Some kids don't even have fathers and y'all hating on my father because he believes his kids can do anything".
I think Lonzo Ball has already taken that approach, but he's got years of experience in dealing with LaVar. I mean, he's just being him, and the son is just being him. It's of course entirely possible that LaVar Ball's out-there approach will be detrimental to his sons' careers, but we can't know that, at least not this early. As a Celtic fan, I shudder at the thought of Danny Ainge having to make the decision on drafting this kid (as they now have the best odds of landing the #1 pick). The team's basketball program was of little note before the Balls arrived; once Lonzo came along, so did the state titles and 30-win seasons, thus improving the likelihood that LaVar would be granted a say in on-court matters. But in the NBA, Ball says that wouldn't be a problem. As ESPN's Rich Cimini points out, Ball was in attendance at Jets training camp in 1994 and 1995.
Lonzo Ball: "I'm not going to use that as an excuse". That is one positive thing I can say about LaVar. But there is one player who hasn't played a single second in the National Basketball Association, and has already been compared to being just as good, if not better, than both Johnson and Curry. LaVar Ball claims he'd have crushed Jordan one-on-one, but Bryant is more realistic about his talents. Then the new front office would have to decide that it valued Ball over the other prospects, and he would also have to be available when they're picking, no sure thing unless they get the first overall selection.
In the only college head-to-head matchup on February 4, Ball posted 22 points, six rebounds, five assists, four steals, three turnovers, and one block.
