Fire Emblem Echoes gets Massive Limited Edition Release

Nintendo loves to put together nice packages for their game releases and then truly stick to the "limited" part of "limited edition".

In addition to information on the limited edition, Nintendo brought up Fire Emblem Heroes: Shadows of Valentia's amiibo functionality.

Nintendo is giving Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, the Nintendo 3DS remake of Famicom game Fire Emblem Gaiden, the deluxe treatment when it releases in May.

In case you missed it, you can find some details of Fire Emblem Echoes' gameplay here, alongside several pieces of character artwork.

The limited edition will retail for $59.99, while the standard version of the game is priced at $39.99.

Amiibo figures of Alm and Celica will also be available at launch for $24.99.

There's also a feature within Shadows of Valentia that allows players to use the amiibo in battle. This summons an AI-controlled companion-an "illusory hero"- who fights as your ally for one turn. That changed with Fire Emblem Awakening though, selling millions of copies and solidifying the series as a top tier release for 3DS. All other amiibo will summon additional monsters to the battleground to assist players in battle.

For what it's worth, I have the artbook for Fire Emblem Fates, and it's gorgeous.

When it launches on 19th May, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will be available as a solus game and special Limited Edition, featuring the game, an artbook, metal pixel pin badges of Alm, Celica, and Marth, a reversible title sheet, the "Sounds of Echoes" soundtrack selection CD, and the Alm and Celica amiibo figures.

We'll have more on Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia as it comes.
