Calais Campbell a badly needed boost for Jaguars' pass rush

"We wanted to fill gaps through free agency and we feel we've done that".

Free agent defensive end Calais Campbell was thought to be headed to Jacksonville to play for the Jaguars as of Wednesday heading into the start of free agency.

With a new regime in place, and desperate to shake the culture of continual losing, a big offseason was imperative for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Campbell told members of the media the reason he picked Jacksonville over other teams, including Denver, was because Coughlin was a victor.

Keep up with all the latest free-agent signing in the NFL. Church and Bouye help strengthen the secondary, which lost Johnathan Cyprien who signed with Tennessee. Nothing done at this point can be official.

Picking Fournette in round one, while also drafting and/or signing offensive linemen to shore up the line would be a nice counter-balance to the free agent moves the team has already now made, and help with alleviating the pressure on Blake Bortles in his make or break year. He and Jalen Ramsey, who finished second in the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year voting, are expected to give the Jaguars two of the best shutdown corners in the league.

According to Michael Wright of ESPN, the Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to a blockbuster five-year $67.5 million deal with Houston Texans cornerback A.J. Bouye.

The Jaguars also signed former Dallas Cowboys safety Barry Church.
