West Ham v Crystal Palace preview

According to the Daily Star, Liverpool are considering whether or not they should sign West Ham winger Dimitri Payet.

London media have reported Payet, 29, is refusing to play for West Ham, who pay him around NZ$200,000 per week.

"We are not going to sell him".

"A home win would put nine points between the two teams; a defeat would see Big Sam's Palace move just three points behind".

West Ham expect Payet to attend training on Monday, although he will not be training with the first-team squad and his activities could be determined by the extent of a back injury.

"Players are going to look at us and say 'do I want to go to Crystal Place in a relegation battle?'"

'We gave Dimitri the opportunity to play in the best league in the world when he wasn't in the France team and a platform that has helped him become one of the best players in Europe.

Payet was left out of West Ham's 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace after informing his manager, Slaven Bilic, that he wishes to leave the club.

West Ham's vice-chairman Karren Brady indicated a softening of the club's stance that Payet would not be sold yesterday, writing in the Sun that "probably sooner rather than later he will be on his way".

Manuel Lanzini rounded off the afternoon with a fine counter-attacking...

West Ham's only win in a London derby this season came at Selhurst Park (L3) while Palace have lost all four of their London derbies this season.

Just after, West Ham had a deserved lead.

All very honourable from the Prof, except that there are now rumours that plenty of other clubs, including our big Premier League rivals like Chelsea, are not so hesitant about taking advantage of the situation in east London. That means West Ham do not need to be in any hurry to sell, even if the fact that the player will miss matches for the rest of the month, at least, does make things a lot more complicated. They are now 13th on the Premier League table.
